Dental Implant Glossary Cyst A type of benign tumor that can form around an impacted or diseased tooth.   It is filled with fluid, and                          can hollow out the bone in a patient's jaw to a significant extent.  Rarely do cysts spontaneously                          resorb in response to any treatment; in general they are removed by careful curettage and the                          missing bone usually regenerates.
